So I decided to try the Flat Tummy Tea that everyone has been talking about. I went to their website, used their 20% discount and ordered a $40 tea supplement. It consists of an everyday morning tea, and a detox/cleansing night-time tea.
When I first decided to buy the tea, I read all the reviews I could find. I had also been seeing their advertisements on Instagram and Facebook. But what convinced me was the type of ads I saw on Instagram. I would see every day women who basically vouch for the product. Occasionally, I would see a celebrity with a flat stomach holding up the tea. But their stomach was flat before they started using it, so I felt like it didn’t really count.
When I got the tea, I was so excited to try it. After all, I had been eating right and working out 4-5 times a week so I felt like I was already doing the heavy lifting. I just needed an extra boost. I tried it for the first 2 weeks and I didn’t shed any extra pounds due to the tea. I also took a before picture and an after picture (Don’t ask me to upload those, because I won’t) and I didn’t see a big difference. I still looked the same. There were days when I felt better because of the detox. However, if I’m going to pay $40+ I need to see more results. I feel like I can pay $5 for a tea if I just wanted to “feel” better.
The tea doesn’t taste bad. It’s actually kind of refreshing. I usually add a little bit of splenda to give it a dash of sweetness. The morning tea is supposed to make you feel energized and sometimes, I feel the extra kick (like this morning). The night-time tea is supposed to make you less bloated. Now I will admit, the week after Aunt Flow comes to town, the detox tea makes me feel SO MUCH BETTER.
I’m not saying it doesn’t work. Because according to all the reviews out there, it’s obviously worked for someone. All I’m saying is maybe it doesn’t work for me, which is okay. If you want to give it a shot, go ahead. However, You can’t expect it to work if you are still eating all the cupcakes, chips and cookies in the world. You still have to do your part.
The moral of the story is, there is not short cut. Drink water, run, and do sit ups/crunches like your life depends on it.
Be blessed. Stay Focused.
