So the New Year is around the corner, and we all know how it’s going to go. We’re going to make a New Years Resolution to lose weight and start the year off strong. We may invest in a gym membership, and we may even go to the gym for the month of January. But lets face it, by Valentines Day, we’re back in our old habits.
2017 will be the year of opportunity! So why not start early?! I want to be in routine before the New Year. I want to be sure that I’m going to accomplish my goal for next year. My first big goal is to drop 30 pounds by April 20th. I’m calling it the 14 Week Challenge, and I’m splitting it up into two 7 week phases. Phase one starts on December 20th (it’s right before Christmas, I know.) But I would rather start sooner than later! Each week I’m going to post what I’ll be eating and what workouts I’ll be doing so we can do this together! I’ll also be sending out an email with detailed recipes on what I’ll be eating and my grocery list for the week. If you want to be included in my mailing list, shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or comment on this post with your email address. It’s always better to have a support system when making life style changes. Everyone needs a accountability partner!
The rules for phase one are simple:
- Limited Carbs (NO pasta and/or rice)
- NO sodas
- NO alcohol
- Limited Dairy
- 2 Cheat snacks for phase 1 (ex. A cupcake, a milkshake)
- Drink as much water as you possibly can. I drink water ALL day. Constantly.
- Exercise 2-3 times a week (If you already do more, keep it up!)
In order for us to get a fresh start, it makes sense that we naturally remove the bad things from our systems. Below are the three detox waters that I will be trying for week one. I’ve also included the website where you can find dozens of other detox waters!
So here is what I’ll be doing for Week 1: Detox Week
Day 1 and 2: Apple Cinnamon Detox
This recipe is really easy, its just a sliced apple and a stick of cinnamon. Let it sit in the fridge for an hour, then enjoy.
Day 3-4: Strawberry, Lemon, and Mint Detox Water
For this detox water, you’ll need chopped strawberries, lemon juice, and mint. Add them to water, put it in the fridge and enjoy!
Day 5: Apple Cider Vinegar Soda
For this recipe, you’ll need apple cider vinegar, Splenda, and sparkling mineral water. If you’re craving soda, this may be a great alternative!
More information on the health benefits from these different detox waters will be included in my weekly news letter!
Please remember, I’m not a professional trainer or a dietician. Most of these things that we will be trying, I’ve never tried before. Which means I’m in the same inexperienced boat you’re in. I Google things and take suggestions from others. I make an effort to try everything in order to see what works best. Our bodies are all different, so what works for you, may not work for me and vise versa. Keep an open mind, and stay encouraged. If you have any suggestions, I would LOVE to hear them! Feel free to comment or send me an email (email@example.com).
Try using MyFitnessPal in order to keep track of what you’re eating. I connected my Apple Watch to the app so when I work out I can have all my health information in one place.
